Contrasting wins for Bulls, Raiders

Half Mile Bulls and Retrieve Raiders secured contrasting wins when the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA)/104.3 POWER FM Mash Championships commenced on Saturday.

Played at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) Hard-court, the number one seed Half Mile Bulls overcame Amelia’s Ward Jets by a 85-76 score line. Terron Welch top scored in the win with 32 points.

He was supported by Michael Turner and Kevin Easton who netted 22 and nine points respectively. On the other side, Omally Sampson top scored with 19 points while Joel Webster, Vibert Benjamin and Orin Rose netted 15, 12 and 10 points apiece.

Meanwhile Raiders dismantled Block 22 Flames by a 67-45 margin. Dwayne ‘Sugar’ Roberts netted 22 points in the rout while Keon Cameron chipped in with 18 points.
