The 22nd edition of the Mayor’s Cup Football Championship will continue today and tomorrow at the Victoria and Den Amstel Community grounds respectively.
At the Victoria ground, Beterverwagting (BV)/Triumph United will oppose Eagles of West Demerara from 18:00hrs while Golden Grove will tackle Herstelling Raiders in the feature contest from 20:00hrs.
On Sunday at the Den Amstel, Pouderoyen will lock horns with Soesdyke Falcons from 14:00hrs while in the feature contest, home side Den Amstel will face-off with Kuru-Kururu Warriors from 16:00hrs.
Winner of the event will receive $700,000 and the championship trophy while the second, third and fourth place finishers will pocket $300,000, $200,000 and $100,000 respectively and the corresponding accolade.
