It will be Linden versus the East Coast of Demerara when Winners Connection lock horns with Victoria Kings in the 22nd Mayor’s Cup football tournament today at the Victoria Community ground today from 21:00hrs.
This contest promises to be a high intensity showdown.
The second match of the night will witness the renewing of a recent rivalry when East Bank of Demerara giant Grove Hi-Tech face-off with East Coast of Demerara side Ann’s Grove from 19:00hrs.
The opening contest of the triple header will pit Berbice unit Cougars against the ever improving Guyana Police Force (GPF) from 17:00hrs.
The Berbicians sealed their berth to the second round after defeating Golden Grove on penalty kicks also after normal and extra time ended 2-2. A high scoring contest is expected.
The event will continue June 19th at the Georgetown Football Club. In the opening fixture from 17:00hrs, the Guyana Police Force will lock horns with Eagles FC of Linden while the second contest will pit Riddim Squad against Uitvlugt from 19:00hrs.
In the feature contest of the night, Western Tigers will match skills with Den Amstel from 21:00hrs.
