Larceny charge against former policewoman dismissed

Former Police constable Donette Jupiter, who was charged last year with stealing a smartphone and other items, had the charge against her dismissed yesterday.

The charge against Jupiter stated that on August 12, 2016 in Georgetown, she stole a Samsung Galaxy phone, valued at $129,000, a 32 GB memory card, valued at $8,000, and a GTT SIM card, valued at $3,000.

Jupiter was on trial for the matter before Magistrate Fabayo Azore.

Based on the evidence presented through the prosecution’s witnesses, it was found that there was insufficient evidence to prove Jupiter was the person who had committed the crime.

As a result, the charge against Jupiter was dismissed.

Jupiter was represented by attorney Patrice Henry.
