Corentyne farmer pleads for help in locating stolen Premio

A silver Toyota Premio car was stolen from the Corentyne, sometime during the course of last evening, and the owner of the car is now pleading for the public’s help in locating the stolen vehicle.

years ago for $3.1 million. The car bears the licence plate number PSS 5967 and has the words ‘King’s Way’ on the back windscreen. In the stolen car are Baldeo’s and his son’s drivers’ licences, identification cards and a cheque for $1.1 million.

The farmer explained to Stabroek News yesterday that they would usually drive their cars and park them on the main access road, not far from their home, at the head of the entrance to the backdam where their rice fields are located. They would leave their cars there on a regular basis, as most times they have to run different errands throughout the day, he stated, adding that yesterday afternoon they came out from the back dam around 6:30 pm. He then drove his car home, whilst his son followed in their tractor. However, upon returning, the men discovered the silver Toyota Premio was missing.

“We finish work around 6:30 [pm] time. We come out from backdam, and me son drive the tractor and come out, so when he come out the tractor nah get light so me tell he, drive back ah me, so we drive and go home, when we come back for the car, me nah see am from the road. Like fifteen minutes abie left the car there, me nah see nobody was there or nothing”, he said.
