Nationwide U13 cricket competition set to commence April 21

A nationwide day/night Under 13 cricket competition is set to get underway April 21 at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground.

According to a press release, the tournament will be sponsored by Mike’s Pharmacy, through its brand `Well Teen,’ the United Kingdom’s number one product for teenagers, Trophy Stall, Tropical Springs and Nauth Motor Spares.

All matches, except the semi-finals, will be played at the DCC Ground on Lance Gibbs Street, Queenstown.

The semi-finals, the release stated, will be played at the Albion. Community Development Centre ground.

The tournament is set to commence April 21 at 4:00pm, between the inaugural day/night champions Bel Air Rubis against Transport.

Matches will be played also on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays from 5pm.

This tournament is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Guyana Floodlights Softball Cricket Association and the Demerara Cricket Club.

Matches are 25 overs-a-side and will feature teams from Georgetown, East Coast Demerara, East Bank Demerara, West Demerara and a Select Berbice Team.

Other teams interested to take part are welcome, the release stated.
