Blairmont Young Blazers suffer mixed fortunes

Zinul Ramsammy and Antone Alexander helped Blairmont Young Blazers to a 67-run win over the Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) when the Well Teen, Trophy Stall, Tropical Springs  and Nauth Motor Spares  U13 cricket competition continued last weekend  at the Gandhi Youth Organization Sports Ground, today.

Blairmont, batting first, scored 135-6 from 25 overs with Ramsammy top scoring with 33, an innings which included three fours and one six.

He was supported by Jaden Trotz and Alexander who made 21 and 13 respectively.

Bowling for Malteenoes, O. Wills took two wickets for 11 runs.

MSC, in reply, were dismissed for 68 all out with Alexander capturing 4 for 20 and Anthony Sookra three wickets for 10 runs.

In their second match of the day Blairmont succumbed to the Georgetown Cricket Club by six wickets. Blairmont, again batting first, scored 144 for 9 with Ramsammy again top scoring with 42. Alexander and Trotz supported with 33 and 22 runs respectively.

Yohanie Angoy was the pick of the GCC bowlers snaring 3 for 21 while Adiyah Persaud took 2 for 38 runs.  In reply, Zackary Jodha scored 57 to lead GCC to 145 for 4 wickets off 19 overs. Riveraldo Phillips supported with 20.

Anthony Sookra took 2 for 34 for Blairmont.
