Simon returned as LABA president

Incumbent Lawrence Simon was returned to the helm of the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) when the entity staged its Electoral Congress and Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday.

Lawrence, who will serve for another two years, was re-elected unanimously as the six affiliated clubs voted for his slate at the Mackenzie Sports Club.

The clubs that voted were Retrieve Raiders, Amelia’s Ward Jets, Bankers Trust Falcons, Kwakwani and Victory Valley Royals. Absent from the congress was Half Mile Bulls.

The other members that will serve under Simon for another term are second Vice President, Eze Wilson, Secretary, Joseph Chapman and Organising Secretary Christopher Pollydore.

Meanwhile, Abdulla Hamid, Tandica Fraser, Kevin Sullivan and Joel Webster will serve as First Vice President, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer and Assistant Secretary respectively.

Also, Kevin Joseph and Eusi Francis returns as Committee Members with Tracy Liverpool to act as the Public Relations Officer.
