The Second Ground Entertainment coordinated Extra Beer ‘Ballers in the Summer’ Street Football Championship will commence today at the Pouderoyen Tarmac with eight elimination fixtures.
In the opening fixture at 19:00hrs, Rising Stars will oppose Speed Boat, while North Ruimveldt will lock horns with Silver Bullets out of Linden.
At 20:00hrs, Shatterville Gunners will do battle with with ESPN, while Tucville will meet Tigerbay at 20:30hrs, and Harmony Ballers will engage Bagotstown from 21:00hrs.
The sixth fixture will pit Upsetters against Broad Street from 21:30hrs, while Patentia Street Ballers will tackle Samaroo Dam from 22:00hrs.
In the final fixture, Showstoppers will clash with Future Crane from 22:30hrs.
The event will continue on Sunday at the same venue with another eight elimination matches. At 19:00hrs, Lot-20 will lock horns with Comfort Ballers, while Linden unit, Dave and Celina’s All-Stars will oppose Champion Boys from 19:30hrs.
In the third fixture, Bent Street will come up against Gold is Money at 20:00hrs, while Money Team will face Jetty Gunners from 20:30hrs, and Future Stars will do battle with Albouystown from 21:00hrs.
At 21:30hrs, Hustlers will engage Beterverwagting, while Tajoe’s Admiral United will tackle Brothers United from 22:00hrs and Sparta Boss will clash with Agricola in the final fixture at 22:30hrs.
The respective winners of the elimination round matches will progress to the group stage. Winner of the event will pocket $400,000 and the championship trophy, while the second, third and fourth place finishers will receive $150,000, $75,000 and $50,000, respectively.
On the individual side, the Most Valuable Player will walk away with $40,000.
