Eagles nip UG Trojans 72-69, Colts maul Kobras 74-47

Eagles clawed their way past University of Guyana (UG) Trojans 72-69 in their Open Divisional fixture, when the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) League continued on Wednesday.

Staged at the Burnham Court at Carmichael and Middle streets, Travis Belgrave led the high scoring Eagles unit with an impressive 25 points. He was assisted by the combination of Shamar Huntley and Kevin Higgins, who added 14 and 11 points, respectively.

For the loser, Sherland Gillis top scored with 16 points, while Kadeem Peterkin, Darrol Williams and Jermaine Browne chipped in with 11, 10 and 10 points, correspondingly.

Meanwhile, Colts mauled Kobras 74-47 in the earlier U23 matchup. Timothy Thompson led the rout with 22 points, while Jafar Gibbons, Lemuel Grant and Daniel Ramlagan added 13, 12 and nine points, apiece.

For the other side, Amoniki John and Rawlewayne Payne top scored for Kobras with 16 points each.
