Golden Stars earned their quarterfinal berth in the GT Beer Berbice 8-aside Football Championship, humbling Mahaica Determinators 4-2 on Friday at the Scott’s School ground, New Amsterdam (NA).
Stephon Reynolds, Sunil Logan, Alief Mahaica and Ryan Hackett were on target in the first, 36th, 48th and 50th+1 minute respectively.
For the loser, Kurt Roberts and Eion Abel scored in the 25th and 30th minute respectively.
Meanwhile, Mahaicony and Corriverton Links battled to a 2-2 draw. David Cameron and David Belgrave scored in the 13th and 27th minute respectively for Mahaicony. While Young Strikers and Soccer City battled to a nil all draw.
For Corriverton, Kevin Lester scored in the 25th and 35th minute. Also, Young Strikers and Soccer City battled to a scoreless result. Golden Stars will now oppose Beacons today at the same venue.
The second quarterfinal will witness Arsenal opposing Monedderlust.
The two remaining quarterfinal matches will pit Georgetown Police against Rosignol and Edinburgh Gunners against Black Sharks on Friday 22nd at the same venue.
