Mangra, Odit, Moore, Ramdhani into Trophy Stall badminton finals

Jonathan Mangra and Avinash Odit booked their spots in the men’s final while Priyanna Ramdhani and Pricilla Moore did the same in the female category when the Trophy Stall Christmas Badminton tournament got underway at the National Gymnasium on Friday.

The tournament, which includes the open male and female divisions as well as Under-11, 15 and 19 boys and girls singles, is a two-day tournament.

Jonathan Mangra and Priyanna Ramdhani have booked their finals spots.

Mangra defeated Jamal Shamsudeen while Odit advanced from the first round with a victory over Isaac Mallampati. In the quarter final, Mangra and Odit disposed of Avian Rodrigues and Tyrese Jeffrey respectively before Mangra beat Akili Haynes and Odit emerged victorious over Darrell Carpenay in the semifinals.

In the female division, Ramdhani was victorious over Stephanie Sajar as Moore beat Emelia Ramdhani in the quarterfinals before Priyanna Ramdhani disposed of Christina Kumar and Moore advanced with a win over Ayanna Watson in the semifinals.

Sajar defeated Jayde DaSilva to win the female consolation final.
