The Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) is set to loop off the 2019 edition of the mini and pre-cadet championships from today at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH). The event will conclude tomorrow.

The event will feature Guyana’s emerging talents in the under-11 and 13 categories who will vie for top honours.

One such player is 12-year-old Jonathan Van Lange; the event presents an opportunity for him to continue his encouraging rise as one of Guyana’s most promising emerging talents.

In March, Van Lange copped both the boys under – 15 and 18 titles at the GTTA’s junior nationals where he defeated Kaysan Ninvalle – another capable prospect – in both finals.

Other top players expected to be on show are Colin Wong, Kristian Sahadeo, Danesh Persaud, Jasmine Billingy and Malachai Moore.

Meanwhile, hosted alongside the event, will be an open Junior and Cadet championships where the under 15 and 18 players like Ninvalle and Thuraia Thomas will get the opportunity to trade serves with their counterparts.
