PI into murder charge against fourth accused in Bourda cheese vendor murder continues

The Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the murder charge against Nya John, the fourth accused in the death of Bourda Market cheese vendor Troy Ramalho, continued yesterday.

John is currently before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus, who is presiding over the PI, which is being done by the way of paper committal proceedings.

It is alleged that Nya John, 20, on August 15th at Robb Street, Bourda, in the course or furtherance of a robbery, murdered Ramalho.

The matter continued yesterday with Roger Harmon, a City Constabulary Officer, taking the stand.

The matter is expected to be called again on July 19th.

Three other accused, Roy Sanford, Akeem Morris, and George Paton, were committed to stand trial for the crime on April 29th.

Ramalho, 45, was shot once in the chest while reportedly resisting three men who attempted to rob him of his jewellery.
