(Trinidad Express) Two men were killed minutes apart in Curepe and Piarco on Thursday night.
The victims have been identified as 29-year-old Calvin Carlton Straker, and 36-year-old Shelford Paynter.
Straker was shot dead near his home in Oropune Gardens, Piarco, at about 9.45p.m. He died from bullets to the head and upper body.
Ten spent 9mm shells were found on the scene.
Superintendent Brandon John, Insp Birch, Cpl Mohammed, PC Foster, PC Simon, PC Davidson, and PC Ramdial, among several others, visited the scene.
PC Ramdial is investigating.
Paynter was shot dead at about 9.50p.m. near his home along Lyndon Street, Curepe.
Residents of the area heard rapid gunfire and found Paytner lying in his blood. He had been shot in the head, arms, and feet.
Ten spent 9mm shell were found. PC Wren is investigating.
