Dear Editor,
I want to publicly thank Mr. Charles Ceres for his encapsulation of our political environment articulated during his last press conference. A highly accomplished man in his mid-sixties, and whose blunt company I’ve had the occasional pleasure to enjoy, his summation “My generation is fuelled by the politics of the three Rs – race, resentment and retribution” is as accurate as anything that can be said about Guyana. It is time that we put an end to those politics through the effort of young people crafting their own agendas in a deliberate departure from those three: race, resentment and retribution. Far too much is at stake. It is time for a fresh start, a clean slate.
