Road fatalities in Jamaica climb to 251

(Jamaica Observer) The Road Safety Unit says road deaths have passed the 250 mark and is again advising motorists to wear their seatbelts, helmets, and other protective devices to save life, as well as, to pay close attention to road signs and markings.

Exxon secures local insurance

ExxonMobil’s local subsidiary, Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Limited (EEPGL), and partners have secured the necessary local insurance for its operations here even as the oil major’s Country Manager Rod Henson assured that it won’t have to be used since there will be no oil spillage or accidents.

Guyana Stores tax debt settled

Guyana Stores Limited (GSL) has “done what [it] had to do” as it relates to repayment of a $3.8 billion debt that was owed to the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA), co-owner of the company Tony Yassin has said.
