Sheltez tennis camp serves off on August 5

The National Racquet Centre on Woolford Avenue will become a hive of activity as the fourth edition of the Sheltez Tennis Club’s annual summer camp serves off from August 5.

The two-week camp will be coached by Female Coach of the Year Shelly Daly-Ramdyhan and Orande Dainty, with participants categorised as beginners/intermediate and advanced, and all having the opportunity of joining the club at the end.

According to Daly-Ramdyhan, “new players will be introduced to the game where they will be exposed to all the fundamental skills, techniques while having fun through a game-based approach, whereas players who are already playing will be training to intensify their skill and fine-tune their game.”

Throughout the years, the camp has produced young players who have gone on to represent Guyana at various levels and include the likes of Menikshi Jaikisson, Paula Kalekyezi, Hayden Mentore, Ricky Romacindo, Jeremiah Kalekyezi, Vadeanand Resaul, Saskia Persaud and Akilah Jones.

Persons desirous of joining the beginners’ class will be required to pay $4,000 while the advanced class will attract a fee of $5,000.
