The driver in the hit-and-run accident which claimed the life of Annandale resident, Leon Fung-a-Fat, is still to be apprehended

Delon, a brother of Fung-A-Fat, yesterday told Stabroek News that the family have not heard anything from the police on the progress of the investigation. He stated that the last time they checked with the police, they were told that no updates were available.

He said that the police were working to enhance surveillance footage gathered but to date they have not been successful.

According to Delon, the footage reviewed showed that it was a silver-coloured car that struck down his brother. He stated that the driver came out of the car and asked an eyewitness what it was he had hit. After the driver learnt he had struck down a man, he hopped back into his car and drove away.

The surveillance footage also showed that the car suffered a tyre blowout, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and collide with Fung-A-Fat.

Delon had said that he was pleading with traffic ranks to review more surveillance footage.

Fung-A-Fat, 31, of 162 Annandale South died on July 7th after he was struck down and left on the road for approximately half an hour before receiving help.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
