WJ Enterprise, distributor of Croxley Papers, became the latest entity to support the fourth annual Limacol Football Championship, donating an undisclosed sum to tournament organizer the Petra Organization.
The presentation, which was done by company supervisor Kavita Sukhu occurred at the entity’s Regent Road location.
Receiving the donation was Troy Mendonca, the Co-Director of the Petra Organization. Mendonca, during brief remarks, thanked the company for timely contribution which will aid in staging a successful tournament.
The event, which features 12 clubs from Georgetown, East Coast of Demerara, East Bank of Demerara and West Demerara, commences on August 31st at the same venue. It is expected to conclude during the month of September.
The 12 teams will be divided into three groups of four, with the top two finishers from each pool alongside the best two third place finishers progressing to the knockout round. Winner of the event will pocket $400,000 and the championship trophy, while the second, third and fourth place finishers will collect $200,000, $100,000 and $50,000 respectively.
