Appalled at condition of C. V. Nunes Primary

Dear Editor,

The C. V. Nunes Primary School has been a paragon of excellence academically and even in athletics. For about thirty years this school has been in the top ten at Common Entrance and the N. G. S. A exams. However, I am appalled to see the flooding of the bottom corridor of this prestigious school and the infestation of wood ants in the roof of same. My investigation revealed that the region doesn’t carry out defects analysis to determine the type of maintenance required for various institutions.

Presently some work is being done to the school however can the relevant authorities say if the corridors will be lifted and the drainage system be modernized to prevent flooding?

I wonder why a school which laid the foundation for this year’s top CSEC student, Miss Toney and other luminaries such as the Rasheed sisters must be neglected due to bad administration. It is the hope of many of us who attended this renowned school that all the present defects be dealt with immediately, especially the drainage and termites infested roof. I don’t believe the powers that be are willfully waiting for a disaster to occur at this institution of excellence. Respect must be given where respect is due.

Yours faithfully,

Jason Martin
