Grove Hi-Tech whips Herstelling 16-0

Grove Hi-Tech defeated Herstelling 16-0 when the East Bank Demerara leg of the NAMILCO U17 Football League continued yesterday at the National Training Centre, Providence.

It was a record scoreline for this year’s edition, as 10 different players found the back of the net in the 70 minute lopsided clash. The trio of Kurwin Lyte, Samuel Garnett and Usher Jones led the assault as they combined for nine goals.

Lyte bagged a helmet trick in the 13th, 14th, 31st and 41st minute. He was followed by Garnett who was the next best scorer with a hat-trick in the fifth, 27th and 36th minute.

Adding a double was Jones in the 65th and 69th minute. The remaining conversions occurred via the remaining seven different scorers.

Rasheed Evans, Vincent Chin, Devon Padmore, Faswan Cordis, Jamal Thom, O’Neil McKenzie and Orwin Hunte scored in the 38th, 47th, 53rd, 55th, 59th, 61st and 67th minute respectively.

Meanwhile, Mocha Champs dismissed Diamond United 5-2. Tyrese Powell amassed a hat-trick in the 50th, 55th and 59th minute, with solitary conversions occurring off the boot of Warren Williams and Trick Trice in the 10th and 61st minute each. For the loser, Stephon Castello and Shaquan Joseph scored in the 39th and 51st minute respectively. Also, Soesdyke defeated Swan via walkover. The event continues at the same venue on Saturday September 14th with another round of matches.
