Gafsons Industries Limited and Farfan and Mendes have secured major government contracts for solar energy projects in the hinterland.
On Friday, Director General in the Ministry of the Presidency Joseph Harmon released a list of the latest projects which were noted by Cabinet.
These included the award of a contract to Gafsons for the supply, installation and commissioning of grid-connected and hybrid solar photovoltaic systems in regions 8 and 10. The figure for Region Eight is $46m and for Region 10 $29.5M.
For the design, supply and installation of solar PV micro grid systems for the Hinterland Electrification Co Inc under the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Gafsons secured a contract for $158.9m for Lots 3 and 4 of the project
Farfan and Mendes secured a contract worth $55.5M for Lots 1 and 2 of the project.
