Street Kings football tourney now set to start Wednesday

Following its postponement from its initial start date of September 7th, the inaugural 592 ‘Street Kings’ Championship will officially commence on Wednesday at the Burnham Court on Middle and Carmichael Streets.

 In the opening fixture of the event, Alexander Village will oppose newcomer LA Ballers at 19:30hrs while Back Circle tackle Ansa McAl from 20:00hrs and Melanie-B will engage Future Stars at 20:30hrs.

In the fourth match, Broad Street matches skills with North East La Penitence at 21:00hrs while Leopold Street will take aim at Tiger-Bay from 21:30hrs and Gold is Money battles Avocado Ballers from 22:00hrs.

The final two matches will pit Sparta Boss against John Street from 22:30hrs and Albouystown-B against Sophia at 23:00hrs.

 The second night of play will be staged at the same venue on Friday September 20th and will feature the respective winners from the aforementioned matches.

The three day elimination tournament which will be played for over $675,000 in prizes, will conclude at the Durban Park Tarmac on September 21st. The final night will witness the semifinal round and the eventual finale.

 Winner of the event will collect $300,000 and a trophy, while the runners-up will pocket $150,000. On the other hand, the third place finisher will grab $100,000 while fourth place side will receive $75,000. 

Meanwhile the losing four quarterfinal teams will be eligible for the ‘592 Shield’ section. The winner of the ‘Plate’ section will collect $50,000.
