Local Grand Prix set to begin September 21

The Guyana Chess Federation (GCF) is gearing up for its first 2019 Grand Prix chess tournament under the new administration.

The 8-round tournament begins on Saturday, September 21. It is a weekend tournament only and details can be obtained during the week from the GCF’s website guyanachess.org.

The Grand Prix is a series of six tournaments and represent a precursor for the 2020 Chess Olympiad. Details will be published widely in the media when the structure of the Grand Prix is fully formalized.
