Six persons from West Coast Berbice are now homeless after a relative allegedly set their house on fire yesterday afternoon.
Deowattie Jottie also known as `Rita’ and her five children ages 17, 14, 10, 6 and 5 are now homeless.
According to information gathered, a relative was involved in an argument with Jottie yesterday afternoon over $10,000, which resulted in the relative allegedly setting Jottie’s house, which is located at Railway Line, Bushlot Village, West Coast Berbice, on fire.
The fire reportedly started around 5 pm.
As of yesterday afternoon, fire-fighters had put out the fire and launched an investigation.
