A 16-year-old boy was yesterday sentenced to four years at the New Opportunity Corps after being found guilty of raping a six-year-old child.
The charge against the 16-year-old stated that between December 16th and December 30th, 2016, in Linden, he engaged in sexual activity with a child under the age of 16. He was fourteen years old at the time of committing the offence.
He was found guilty two weeks ago by a jury after the members had deliberated and returned with a unanimous guilty verdict.
A probation report was yesterday presented and the child was given the four-year-sentence.
