Category ‘A’ title contenders Zachary Persaud, Shiloh Asregado and Louis Da Silva notched up first round wins on the opening night of the 2019 Ansa McAL Trading Ltd sponsored Handicap Squash tournament at the Georgetown Squash Court last evening.
The night saw Persaud (-8) getting his way with Rylee Rodrigues (12) 15-14, 15-13 while Asregado was tested by Joshua Verwery who he accounted for 15-13, 15-10 in an exciting contest.
Da Silva (-8), on the other hand, opened his account with a convincing win over Lajuan Munroe (5) 15 -8, 15-10
Meanwhile, action in the open category saw Nicholas Verwey (-6) who this season graduated from category ‘A’ to the open league, outmanoeuvering Ian Mekdeci 15-8, 13-15, 15-4 to clinch his opening round win.
