DCC, in pursuit of 189 for victory, were cruising along on 149-3 in 30 overs when rain ended play. Subsequently, according to the umpires’ calculations, they would have had to be on 167-3 when the interruption came to secure the win.

Nerveless, the unsuccessful chase saw national U 15 batsman Jaden Campbell carving out an innings of 67 while Brandon Jaikaran (36) chipped in. Raylex Payne nabbed 2-30 for Everest who earlier posted 188 before being dismissed in 32.2 overs with seamer Dexter George (5-37) registering a five wicket haul.

Runs for Everest came off the bats of skipper Dwayne Adams (43) and Usagrdev Balgobin (43) who both missed out on fifties. The tournament continues at the weekend.
