Defending Men’s champion Pepsi Hikers, GCC Tigers and GCC Spice recorded wins when the GTT National Indoor Hockey Championship continued on Wednesday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.  

The holders Pepsi Hikers downed Bounty GCC 6-4. Aroydy Branford led the holders with a five-goal blitz in the fourth, seventh, 26th, 27th and 40th minute. Robert France added a goal in the 17th minute.

For the loser, the quartet of Dwayne Scott, Orland Semple, Kevin Spencer and Meshach Sergeant scored in the ninth minute, 13th, 25th and 35th minute correspondingly.

In the Women’s Division, GBTI GCC Tigers demolished Saints 5-0. Marzana Fiedtkou recorded a hat-trick in the third, ninth and 22nd minute. Gabriella Xavier completed the result with a brace in the 36th and 39th minute. Meanwhile, GCC Spice edged GCC Spartans 3-2. Shebiki Baptiste bagged a double in the sixth and 36th minute, while Sandy Roopnarine netted in the ninth minute.

For the loser, Sarah Klautky and Abosaide Cadogan scored in the 23rd and 24th minute respectively. In the 2nd Division, Bounty GCC and YMCA Old Fort bagged easy wins.

YMCA Old Fort silenced Saints 5-0 while Bounty GCC mauled YMCA Old Fort 7-0. In the Veterans Division, Hikers battled to a 4-4 draw with YMCA Old Fort.

Jason DeSantos of Old Fort amassed a hat-trick in the third, 20th and 37th minute, with John Abrahams assisting with a conversion in the 22nd minute.

On the other side, Devin Munroe found the back of the net twice in the 21st and 40th minute, while Rene Edwards and Nicolette Fernandes scored in the 18th and 23rd minute respectively.

Matches continue throughout the week at the same venue, with the respective finals slated for Sunday.
