Trinidad: Pastor charged with sexual assault of 13 year-old-girl

(Trinidad Guardian) Pas­tor Dave Neaves ap­peared in court yes­ter­day for al­leged­ly sex­u­al­ly as­sault­ing a 13-year-old girl.

 
Neaves, 46, of the Grace Wor­ship Cen­tre in Rio Claro, was grant­ed bail but on the con­di­tion that he has no con­tact with the girl.

The Princes Town pas­tor was not asked to en­ter a plead when he ap­peared in the Princes Town Mag­is­trates’ Court.

It is al­leged that on Ju­ly 11 he com­mit­ted an act of sex­u­al pen­e­tra­tion on the girl at a house.

He was charged by WPC Luke.

Court pros­e­cu­tor Sgt Shazeed Mo­hammed did not ob­ject to bail but asked the mag­is­trate to im­pose con­di­tions.

In ask­ing for bail, his at­tor­ney Ash­ley Badal said he was a first time of­fend­er, mar­ried and has chil­dren.

Se­nior Mag­is­trate Rae Roopc­hand grant­ed him $75,000 ap­proval bail with a cash bail al­ter­na­tive of $10,000.

The mat­ter was ad­journed to No­vem­ber 18.
