A 17-year-old is feared dead after he went missing while swimming in the Puruni area yesterday.
Keion Paul, called ‘Boyce,’ reportedly went missing on Friday afternoon just around 4pm. There were conflicting reports as to where he was swimming at the time. Efforts to contact the regional police commander were unsuccessful but information received indicated that a search for the teen and an investigation were in progress up to press time.
By some accounts, Paul was swimming in the Puruni River, in the vicinity of the Puruni Landing, while others suggested that the teen drowned in a mining pit which was filled with water. Posts by friends of the teen on Facebook stated that they were unable to reach him after 1 pm on Friday.
