Accused in Grove wedding house murder to lead defence

Rajen Dindial, who is accused of killing a man outside a Grove wedding house, is expected to lead his defence after a judge overruled a no-case submission that was made on his behalf.

Dindial is on trial before Justice Jo-Ann Barlow on the charge that on September 3rd, 2017, at Grove Squatting Area, he murdered Alston Henry, called ‘Boy.’

Dindial’s attorney, Nigel Hughes, had made a no-case submission. However, on Thursday the judge overruled the submission and noted that the next step would be for Dindial to lead his defence.

The accused is expected to make his next appearance at the High Court in Georgetown on November 11th. It is the prosecution’s case that Dindial used a paddle to fatally beat Henry.
