Kevin Allicock, the boxer who was charged earlier in the year with wounding a drinking companion, was yesterday sentenced to two years in jail after a city magistrate found him guilty of the crime.

Allicock, 25, of 32 James Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, was tried by Magistrate Rondell Weaver in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts 8&9. The charge stated that Allicock unlawfully and maliciously wounded Joshua Barker on April 17th, 2019, in the vicinity of Georgetown.

Following the conclusion of his trial yesterday, the magistrate told Allicock that after considering the evidence presented by the prosecutor and defence, it was the court’s opinion that he was guilty of the offence. She subsequently sentenced him to two years in jail.

According to reports, two men were consuming alcohol in a shop at Albouystown when Allicock pulled out a knife and stabbed Barker to the neck.

Allicock has a series of charges, including discharging a loaded firearm at a city constable, pending in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
