Probe still ongoing into six-year-old’s death

The investigation of the death of six-year-old Kelissa Richards, who was struck down at Farm last week, is still ongoing, according to Commander of Region Three Simon McBean.

McBean said on Thursday that the police were also awaiting the results of an autopsy.

On Saturday last, Richards, of Lot 4 Farm, East Bank Essequibo, was struck by a car while crossing the embankment road.

The driver of the car subsequently stopped and rushed her to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The driver was taken into custody by police.

He was, however, released on station bail, McBean added.
