Over 3 pounds of ganja found by cops in Soesdyke, Plaisance operations

The police recovered a total of just over three pounds of cannabis on Thursday during operations at Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara, and Plaisance, East Coast Demerara.

In a press release, the police force said acting on information received, police ranks form the Regional Division 4B (Eccles-Moblissa) went to a location at Soesdyke Junction, East Bank Demerara and discovered 1,350 grammes of canna-bis. Two persons were subsequently arrested and an investigation is currently in progress.

The police noted that ranks on Thursday also arrested a 44-year-old taxi driver with 40 grammes of cannabis at Victoria Road, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara. The suspect is currently being processed and is expected to be placed before the courts soon.
