Investigations into deaths from 2002-2006 have never been closed

Dear Editor,

The Administration of the Guyana Police Force has noted the very interesting publication in the Stabroek News of Monday November 18, 2019, under the caption `420 persons killed between February 2002 and September 2006’. The article serves as a chilling reminder of the many sinister and unlawful activities that law enforcement officials continue to confront ever so often.

With this in mind, the Police Force wishes to assure the editors and staff of Stabroek News as well as the observing public that investigations into the deaths of those persons during that period of our history have never been closed; and is consequently urging anyone who may be in possession of any information into the incidents to come forward and inform the Police.

Such information/tips need not be submitted directly in person but can be done and will be accepted through any of the traditional means of communication or via Social Media.

Yours faithfully,

Jairam Ramlakhan

Superintendent of Police

Public Relations and

Press Officer

Guyana Police Force
