In ten days, Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty is expected to make a ruling on the charge against Lolita Callendar, also known as ‘Lola Doll,’ who stands accused of the assault of fellow cosmetologist Onika Pompey.

The trial is before Magistrate McGusty in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court Five.

During the recommencement of the trial on Thursday, the video of the two women fighting was shown after which Callendar attempted to compensate Pompey with a hair product that she uses for hair regrowth. However, Pompey refused.

At a previous hearing, Pompey said that if Callendar gave her $800,000, she was willing to have the charge against her dropped. She said that during the fight Callendar damaged her hair and other items. However, Callendar opted to proceed to the trial, while saying that she did not have a cent to give to Pompey.

The matter was adjourned until December 17th, 2019, when the magistrate is expected to make a ruling on whether or not Callendar is guilty.

The charge against Callendar states that she inflicted grievous bodily harm on Pompey on April 6th, 2018, at Leopold Street. Callendar had pleaded not guilty to the charge. At that time, Pompey, of Barima Avenue, Bel Air Park, was also charged with unlawfully wounding Callendar on the same day and at the same location. That charge was dismissed.
