‘Lola Doll’ begins paying compensation for assault

Lolita Callendar, called ‘Lola Doll,’ who was found guilty of assaulting fellow make-up artist Onika Pompey, on Friday began paying compensation for the damage caused by the attack.

Following a trial, Callendar, 27, was found guilty of inflicting grievous bodily harm on Pompey on April 6th, 2018, at Leopold Street.

At Friday’s hearing, Callendar handed over a portion of the $800,000 compensation the two women agreed on. A sum of $200,000 was given to Pompey and Callendar asked that the court gives her another month to make the next payment of $200,000. She further told Principal Magistrate Faith McGusty that she would be able to make payments of $200,000 every month until it is paid in full.

After Pompey indicated that she had no problems with this method, the magistrate granted Callendar’s request.

Once the money was handed to Pompey, Callendar brought it to the Magistrate’s attention that Pompey has been “throwing shade” at her online and asked that Pompey desist from doing so. She added that she wanted the woman to be ordered to stay away from her.

Magistrate McGusty then asked Pompey whether what Callendar was saying was true and the woman denied the claims. Nevertheless the magistrate placed the two women on a bond to keep the peace until the matter was completed.

Callendar is expected to make her next payment on March 27th.
