Mother of five accused of ganja trafficking

A 42-year-old mother of five was yesterday remanded to prison for the alleged possession of over 500 grammes of cannabis.

The charge alleged that Odessa Dublin on December 29th at 123 Regent Street, had in her possession 520 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

Dublin pleaded not guilty to the charge when she appeared before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court. 

Facts presented by police prosecutor Sanj Singh stated that on the day in question at about 2:30pm, police ranks, acting on information received, went to the said address to conduct a search. A search was conducted in Dublin’s presence and a plastic bag containing a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis, was found in her room.

The magistrate remanded Dublin to prison and adjourned the matter until January 21st.
