A brilliant all-round effort by skipper Dwayne Adams single-handedly propelled host Everest over the defending champions the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) by 16 runs in Saturday’s lone New Building Society (NBS) second division 40-overs tournament.
Everest, after winning the toss and electing to bat, were dismissed for 168 in 35 overs. Adams top-scored with an innings of 52 inclusive of four fours and five maximums. He got support from regional first-class player Amir Khan (38) and Kamesh Yadram (25) as leg spinner Steven Sankar snared 3-24 to continue his excellent form for DCC. Totaram Bishun (2-34) was also among the wickets. ….
