Following its latest round of trial simulations at the weekend, the Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) has trimmed Guyana’s male and female under 21 volleyball  squads  ahead of competition in next month’s Inter Guiana Under – 21 volleyball tournament in Cayenne from February 27-29, 2020.

From the initial group of 40 players, the federation yesterday named 15 male and 15 female players who are to engage in further preparations before the squads are further broken down to the final travelling delegation.

A press release from the GVF noted that “A squad of 14 players was shortlisted, which will eventually be dwindled down to 12. Teams are in the process of acquiring visas, while training is ongoing.”

As previously reported, Errol Fingal will be coaching the female unit while Rodney Fredericks will oversee the preparations and bear responsibility for the males. The experienced Levi Nedd, a former national captain, and president of the federation will assist the coaching unit.
