An existential threat continues to be posed by the Region Four Returning Officer, Clairmont Mingo to the declaration of valid results for the March 2nd general elections. Mr Mingo’s provocative attempt yesterday to use a thoroughly discredited spreadsheet must be strongly condemned.
It may however be a prelude to him attempting to introduce questionable Statements of Poll (SoPs) at the resumption of today’s verification of the Region Four vote. If any SoPs are challenged at today’s proceedings there must be recourse to the respective ballot boxes for the definitive count. The country expects that the GECOM Chair will uphold the integrity of the process and ensure full transparency.
