A man accused of causing an accident and failing to report it to the police was granted bail when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Michael Rambharose, 38, of D’Aguiar Park, was arraigned before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus on two charges. It is alleged that on January 29th at Georgetown, Rambharose drove a motor vehicle in a manner dangerous to the public and caused an accident. It is also alleged that he failed to report the accident. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Rambharose told the court that both he and the man involved in the accident settled the matter out of court a short time after the incident. He said that he was confused about the charges he was facing.

The magistrate then informed Rambharose that she would release him on $20,000 bail for the first charge and self-bail for failing to report the accident. The man was ordered to return to court on April 22nd.
