Humming Capleton’s tune

Dear Editor,

The maneuverings, modus operandi and attitude of the government after the No Confidence Motion, and following the 2020 elections has left me continuously humming Natalie Burke’s mega soca hit ‘Do wah yuh want wid me’. But of recent I have been comforted by Capleton’s  ‘That Day Will Come’.  In the first stanza the Jamaican `Fire Marshall’ and reggae prophet sings “Who do you think you are we’re living in a small world, as bad as you think you are we’re living in a small world, as wicked as you think you are we’re living in a small world. That day will come when I rise and see all the wicked men in a fire getting burn, that day will come when they try to escape and there will be nowhere to run.” I have ditched Natalie Burke’s song and am now humming Capleton’s tune.

Yours faithfully,

R. Trim
