A Mon Repos resident died on the spot after he was struck down yesterday by a speeding car. The accident occurred at Mon Repos.
The dead man has since been identified as forty-six-year-old Vickram Boodram of Lot 24 Mon Repos. The incident happened at around 2 pm.
Boodram was said to be crossing the highway when he was struck down by a motor car driven by a twenty-five-year-old mechanic.
According to Assistant Police Commander for Region 4 (C), Royston Andries-Junor, the driver of the car, PPP 5422 is currently in police custody. Andries-Junor said that it was related to them by the driver that Boodram walk-ed into the path of the car.
Police are continuing their investigations.
