Sophia couple held after suspected drugs found at home during CANU raid

A Sophia couple was arrested on Friday night after ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) unearthed a quantity of suspected prohibited drugs during a raid of their house. In a press release issued yesterday, CANU confirmed that the raid was carried out at Lot 804 ‘C’ Field, Sophia, where a quantity of suspected Amphetamine and Methamphetamine, in both powdered and pill form, and 8 grammes of suspected cannabis were found. At the time, a man, who has been identified as Nyron Wilson, 33, and a 19-year-old woman were present at the property. They were both taken into custody.

The woman, who had a toddler in her care at the time of her arrest, was allowed to place the child in the care of another individual while she remained in custody, the agency noted.
