A 54-year-old man was found dead in his apartment at Tuschen Housing Scheme on Wednesday.

Azad Khan was discovered lying motionless by his landlord, at about 5pm.

According to the Guyana Police Force, enquiries revealed that the now deceased lived alone and was last seen alive on November 25th, 2020, at about 7 am by his landlord, who left for work.

However, after returning home on the same day, the report stated that the man made several calls for Khan but received no answer.

The landlord looked through a window to Khan’s bedroom and observed him lying motionless. Police were subsequently summoned. The man’s body was examined by detectives and no marks of violence were found.

However, the police noted that what appeared to be ejected matter from the stomach was seen on Khan’s bed and his mouth.

The body was taken to the Leonora Cottage Hospital, where Khan was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty.

A relative of the deceased told Stabroek News that Khan had moved to the Tuschen area some two weeks ago.

The father of one was described as a good person.

A post-mortem examination is expected to be done shortly.
