Two Lusignan prisoners injured after fight

The police have launched an investigation into an incident yesterday which resulted in two convicted Lusignan prisoners being injured after they were involved in a fight.

According a police release, the Officer-in-Charge at Georgetown Prison ‘B’ (Holding Bay, Lusignan), Senior Superintendent of Prisons (ag), Deoraj Gyandat reported that at about 10:27 hrs yesterday, Diquan Hamilton, who is currently serving a two-year sentence for attempted robbery was involved in an argument which escalated into a fight, with Shadrack King also known as Mark King, who is serving two years for robbery.

The police said that after the alarm was raised about the fight, both prisoners were taken to the prison infirmary where it was discovered that King had suffered a stab wound to his left forearm and Hamilton sustained a single penetrating wound to the lower left side of his thorax. Hamilton was then referred to the Georgetown Public Hospital for further medical attention. He was admitted for twenty-four hour observation and his injury is currently considered non-life-threatening.
