On Saturday, City Mayor Ubraj Narine accompanied by Councillor Denroy Tudor met residents of D’ Aguiar Park to further discuss issues pertaining to the John Fernandes terminal which borders their neighbourhood.

A release on Monday from Tudor said that residents voiced concerns over the noise and environmental pollution which have been affecting them.

A resident, Ms. Chen-Pow said that there is loud noise 24/7 emanating from the John Fernandes terminal. Several culverts have also been blocked which can lead to drainage problems. She said that the lack of consultation has also contributed to the challenges faced by residents.

Other residents have also said that the loud noise has caused cracks in the foundation of their homes and putty to fall from their walls.

The release said that the mayor committed to engage the relevant agencies, including John Fernandes, this week to resolve the issues.
